🎯 What is the Flip?
The Flip is the line that tells you who has the advantage.
🟢 Above the Flip: Buyers have the edge, and rallies have a better chance of continuing.
🔴 Below the Flip: Sellers have the edge, and downside moves can happen faster.
Think of the Flip as the market’s line in the sand. Staying above it favors the bulls. Staying below it favors the bears.
📍 Today’s Key Levels
- Flip: 747.28
- Max Pain / MM Magnet: 745
- Structure: HH 751.97 / LL 750.66 (Structure Shifting)
- Support: 750 (We closed at 751.44, holding above the Flip.)
- Bull Targets: 753 → 755
- Bear Targets: 745 → 740
🐂 IF: Bullish Scenario
We are already above the Flip. Bulls must hold above 747.28, then reclaim the Higher High at 751.97 and hold above it for at least 5 minutes.
Then they must clear the Higher High at 751.97, the upper edge of today’s structure box.
If both happen, the path opens toward:
753 → 755
This must be confirmed by Market Structure (MS) with a Higher High (HH) and Higher Low (HL).
☕ Chop Zone
Expect difficult trading between:
750.66 – 751.97
Why?
- Buyers are defending 750, the strongest market maker magnet, and the LL at 750.66.
- Sellers are capping at the Higher High 751.97.
- Price is pinned inside the structure box, and Market Structure is shifting.
This is where traders usually get chopped up if they trade without confirmation.
🐻 IF: Bearish Scenario
If SPY loses 750 and then the Flip 747.28, holding below for at least 5 minutes, sellers take control.
Potential path:
745 → 740
745 is Max Pain, and 740 is the largest market maker downside exposure on the board. However, we also need to see how the overnight session develops before the market opens.
✅ Pilot Checklist
Before taking any trade, ask yourself:
- Is price above or below the Flip?
- Has Market Structure confirmed (HH/HL or LH/LL)?
- Did the candle hold for at least 5 minutes?
- Is volume supporting the move?
- Does Flow agree?
- Is price reacting at a Point of Interest (POI)?
No Structure = No Trade.
