🎯 QZ ALGO CREED — Probability Over Prediction
We don’t forecast. We read positioning — where Market Maker exposure sits, where the walls are, and how MM is priced across strikes. That tells us where price is constrained, not where it’s going. Structure decides the trade.

| ⚪ Neutral | Pin 769–770 at Max Pain / the Flip (base case) |
| 🔴 Bearish | Lose 769 / 768 → slide to 765 shelf |
⚡ OPENING NOTE
SPY Spot: 769.45 · Max Pain: 769 · Flip: 770.16. This is a coiled pin day. Spot sits sandwiched between Max Pain (769) right underneath and the Flip (770.16) right above — a tight, magnetized zone. 770 is the #1 Absolute (61.5M) and a big positive pin (+18.1M, Daddy Bull), but the calls and puts there are nearly even (6,179 vs 3,365 OI, ~82K volume each) — so it reads as a battle/pin, not a clean directional wall. Overhead the negatives stack close: 771 (Daddy Bear −10.3M, #2 Abs) and 772 (−5.4M). Above them, 775 is the positive call wall / upside target (+9M). Below spot, 768 (−5.7M) is thin support and 765 is a net-flat shelf. There is no monster wall pulling hard either way — the tape is coiled at the Flip, and direction resolves on which side of 769/770 breaks first. Read it with structure — no levels, no trade.

🧭 STRUCTURE CHECK
Market Structure (5 Min):
| Structure | Level | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Chop High (~Pivot) | ~771.55 | Range top |
| Chop Low (~S1) | ~769.03 | Range floor |
| Current | ~770.23 | Mid-range, coiling |
Q ALGO™ Status: ⚪ CHOP (LH / LL / HL mixed) — no clean trend, coiled at the Flip
Price is chopping around 770.23, right on the Flip and inside the day’s pivot band (Pivot 771.55 / S1 769.03). The 5-min prints are mixed (lower highs and higher lows into a coil) — no trend yet. This is a decision zone: a clean push and hold above 770.16/771.55 opens the run to 775; a break and hold below 769.03/768 slides toward 765. Let the coil resolve — don’t anticipate it. (Structure reads ~770.23; the exposure snapshot reads spot 769.45 — aligned, both at the Flip.)
🎯 CONFLUENCE — COILED AT THE FLIP
Spot, Max Pain, and the Flip are all stacked inside a single point (769–770.16). That is textbook pin geometry: 770 is the #1 Absolute and a positive pin (+18.1M) but a battle (calls ≈ puts), 769 is Max Pain right beneath, and the Flip (770.16) caps it. The negatives that would amplify a downside move (771 −10.3M, 772 −5.4M) sit overhead, not below — so they act more like a lid than a trapdoor. The one clean directional magnet above is 775 (+9M call wall). Below, support is thin (768 −5.7M) into a net-flat 765 shelf. Net: this is a low-conviction, mean-reverting pin until price breaks the 769–770 cage. Trade the edges (fade into 775 / defend 768–769), not the middle.
📊 DECISION TABLE
| Level | What It Is | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 779 | 🎯 Baby Bull (+4M) | Thin pin far above |
| 775 | 🎯 Mama Bull (+9M) — call wall | Upside target / fade zone |
| 773 | Abs #3 (23.1M) — net-flat | Battle (untagged) |
| 772 | Baby Bear (−5.4M) — Abs #4 | Overhead lid |
| 771 | 🎯 Daddy Bear (−10.3M) — #2 Abs + put wall | Overhead resistance |
| 770.16 | 🟠 FLIP + Daddy Bull (+18.1M, #1 Abs) | The pin / regime gate |
| 769.45 | ☕ WE ARE HERE (Spot) | Just below the Flip |
| 769 | 🔵 MAX PAIN | Magnet at spot |
| 768 | Baby Bear (−5.7M) — Abs #5 | Thin support |
| 765 | Abs #7 (15.5M) — net-flat | Shelf below |
🎯 THREE BEARS / THREE BULLS (by MM Exposure size)
THE THREE BEARS (Negative):
| Bear | Strike | MM Exposure | OI | Volume |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S1 = DADDY | 771 | −10.3M | 4.5K | 105.1K |
| S2 = MAMA | 768 | −5.7M | 3.4K | 47.8K |
| S3 = BABY | 772 | −5.4M | 3.2K | 75.5K |
All three bears sit overhead or at spot — they cap the upside rather than pull price down.
THE THREE BULLS (Positive):
| Bull | Strike | MM Exposure | OI | Volume |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| B1 = DADDY | 770 | +18.1M | 9.5K | 165.3K |
| B2 = MAMA | 775 | +9.0M | 4.1K | 40.3K |
| B3 = BABY | 779 | +4.0M | ~2K | ~10K |
⚪ Balanced board, slight bull lean. Bulls ~31.1M vs Bears ~21.4M ≈ 1.45:1 — but the bull number is carried almost entirely by the 770 pin, which is itself a call/put battle. Strip the pin and the day is close to flat. This is a coil, not a trend: the honest read is pinned at the Flip until 769–770 breaks.
☕ RANGE ZONE
| Zone | Why |
|---|---|
| 768 — 772 | Spot pins at the Flip/Max Pain inside a tight cage. Bears (771/772) lid the top, Max Pain (769) + 768 floor the bottom. Expect chop/mean-reversion until a clean break — above 771/772 opens 775, below 768 opens 765. |
Commentary: 770 carries the day’s heaviest churn — ~165K total volume, calls and puts nearly even (~82K each) — the definition of a two-sided battle. 771 (105K) and 772 (75K) are close behind, all right on top of price. Only strikes with a clean call/put split appear in the flow tables.
Back from the long weekend, price has settled into the middle. After Friday’s wall-to-wall structure, the holiday-shortened reset leaves SPY pinned at Max Pain (769) and the Flip (770.16) with a balanced board. Tuesdays after a holiday often open thin and indecisive — and the positioning matches: no monster magnet, negatives capping overhead, a lone call wall at 775. Respect the coil. Let 769–770 pick a side before committing; the first clean break of the cage is the trade, not the chop inside it.

No Structure = No Trade. Not all checklist items need to align — build your edge based on your own edge. Coiled pin day: respect 770.16 / 769 — let the cage break before you commit, and fade the middle only with structure.
✈️ Pilots — read the live chain at the open. These newsletter values are pre-market LEVELS; the options chain is real-time data. Check the live chain around 9:45–10:00 AM ET, once conditions settle, and confirm the walls are still where the letter has them. Levels give you the map and the bias — the live chain is the truth at the open, so weight your reliance accordingly before you trade.
